Suitland Bog Tour - August 1st

Post by krisw »

I'm pleased to announce that Chris Garret, Senior Park Ranger, has agreed once again to give us a tour of the Suitland Bog in PG County Maryland.

http://www.pgparks.com/Things_To_Do/Nat ... nd_Bog.htm

Please meet at the bog on August 1st a little before 9:00am. If the gate is closed, just wait outside the gate for Chris to arrive.

The bog itself is home to several carnivorous plants, so it is a wonderful field trip before our August meeting specifically about carnivorous plants.

Here's writeup with pictures from two years ago when we went:

Please post here if you plan on coming so that I can give Chris a head-count for our group.

Rob, as mentioned at our meeting, since the Bog's at 9:00am, it should be possible to do the tour, and make it back just in time for the PVAS meeting. ;-)

I'm glad a lot of folks are interested! If possible, please post here if you're coming. Thanks!

There's no set time, but 2 years ago, I think we were out there for about an hour, maybe a little longer. Largely, it's as long as we have questions for the Ranger, after his initial walk-thru.
