I've never done either and old know the bleach is a 19 to 1 ratio, but I only rinse mine in tap water and run my fingers over the leaves to remove any dead material, etc. and so far I have been lucky never to have any problems.
Sincerely,
Tim

Have you ever seen how potasium permanganate stains? Can you say "purple?" I knew you could.

Kurt

I live in Parkton, MD, just off I-83 and just south of the MD/PA line. I'm not certain of my attendance this month due to some family issues but in the future if you'd like to carpool just let me know. I've been trying to make all the meetings. They're worth the drive!

I'm really sorry, Julie, but I'm afraid I can't make this meeting.  It's a triple bummer because:
1)  I've never seen your tanks in person, and I'd really like to;
2)  Rachel is giving the talk, and she's great; and
3)  I looooove Mexican food!!!!!
 :(  :(  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:

Since I'm recording secretary, but won't be there, I was wondering whether someone could volunteer to take some notes from Rachel's talk.  Just really sparse highlights, really; Rachel, like many vendors/experts, give these talks regularly, and while their content varies some, they are generally prepared talks that they would rather not share in their entirety (e.g., if that person's full talk were available on the web, why would anyone attend in person, etc.).

In particular, I would really appreciate it if someone would take some pictures - we've had precious few meeting pics in the meeting notes this year (part of that is my fault, I've missed so many meetings).  And as you'll discover when you attend Setpember's meeting, Rachel is very photogenic!  :D

And while we're on the subject of food, and I'm the unofficial chair of the food committee, can anyone else volunteer to help Julie with the food?

What else do we need, Julie? So far, you've mentioned green chili burritos (YUM!), but can someone volunteer to bring/purchase sodas? Anyone want to volunteer for a dessert item?

And just to remind you folks, we do have a budget for this stuff, so if you spend money on food, ask for reimbursement. You've seen Ghazanfar's financial reports; a bottle of soda is not going to break the bank, and most people have either been donating the food or just forgetting to ask for reimbursement. I just want to make it perfectly clear that donations are not required.
