At the risk of pressuring Ghazanfar into doing a presentation (when he's already spent over 28 hours on this), I was thinking it might be very informative if he could go over a few scapes (perhaps focusing mostly on GWAPA member's entries, but also on the winners), and discuss what he thought about them and why he judged them the way he did.
Amano did a similar presentation at the AGA a few years ago (I wasn't there, but I bought the DVD), and I learned a ton from that talk. Just understanding how the judges think helps you understand how to improve your scapes.
You've already done a lot, Ghazanfar, and we appreciate all your efforts, but what do you say? Could you slap together a few pics and tell us what you think?

Its easy to comment like that. Its the constructive ones that are hard to come up with.krisw wrote:I did the math... LAZY! LOL!
Well, you and Baliban should be obligated to at least send your scathing comments to all of the GWAPA member submitters. LOL!
Like Mr. Amano's "your foreground sucks" comments on my first AGA entry.

Oh, excellent! I will eventually buy the DVD anyway, but that's nice to know there was a good bit of feedback at the convention.krisw wrote:If Ghazanfar isn't willing to do this, buy the 2010 AGA DVD when it's available. That's exactly what the judges did after the banquet. Also, this was primarily the topic of Karen Randall's talk at the convention as well...

NO NO NO Do the ECS talk.Ghazanfar Ghori wrote:If we put up the AGA website and contest results on a screen (Kris?) at the next meeting, I'd be happy to go over some of the items - no problems.
I was thinking about showing you guys pictures from my Europe trip to Tropica and Niels Jacobsens greenhouse - but we can do that later - no problem.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.
If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!
I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up!

Jeff, one comment Cavan and I noticed when we looked at your tank at the AGA is that it didn't photograph very well front-on. In person, it looked really good at the meeting, but somehow that was lost in translation in the photograph. I'm guessing it was the classic case of scaping from overhead/angle verses scaping from head-on problem.
