Following announcement copied from the PVAS forum - lots of opportunity for GWAPA to shine here in the aquarium Beautiful Competition.
CCA will host AquaMania, a weekend of fish, friends and fun, on Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10 at the Gaithersburg Hilton (special $99 room rate for single and double rooms).
AquaMania will feature awesome speakers (Ad Konings, Ken Davis and Rachel O'Leary), a Sunday Marketplace (swap-meet) of your favorite vendors and hobbyists, an Aquarium Beautiful competition (wouldn't it be great to represent for PVAS?), raffles, a rare fish silent auction, an (included) Saturday awards party, hospitality suite and more fun than you'll be able to handle.
So How Does it Work?
Full Event Registration is only $30 and includes:
All speaker presentations
Saturday awards reception (Hors d'oeuvres and cash bar)
Saturday night hospitality (Beer and festivities)
Exclusive access to Saturday rare fish silent auctions
Priority (early) buyer entry to the Sunday Marketplace
If you plan to register and sell fish at the Sunday Marketplace (swap meet), add a (6') Seller's table for a discounted rate of only $25 more (i.e. Registration + Marketplace Seller's Table = $55).
If you only want to reserve a table for the Sunday Marketplace (and miss out on the speakers and other events on Saturday and Sunday AM), it is $30.
Buyers without registration can access the Marketplace for only $8.
We'll have a web site up soon but if you want to reserve your spot today, you can register via:
Paypal at the "Donate" button at the very bottom of any page on CCA's site (http://www.capitalcichlids.org) (Please type "AquaMania registration for <your name>" into the Special Instructions for Sellers area of PayPal)
Mail - PM me for address
Please PM me if you have any questions and please sign up early!
We're going to have an awesome mix of hobbyists - like you! - and vendor sellers in the Marketplace. Selection of table locations for sellers in the Marketplace is on a first come, first choice basis.
AquaMania is going to be a blast and we'd love to see a bunch of PVAS folks make it a success.
Thanks,
Matt Quinn

CCA Aquamania - March 9-10
Re: CCA Aquafest - March 9-10
Thanks George!
Really looking forward to seeing the GWAPA crew at AquaMania and in the Aquarium Beautiful Contest.
We've basically been give carte blanche to transform the lobby of the Hilton in Gaithersburg into an aquatic paradise - so please bring a tank (or three) to show off!
Here's the web site: www.capitalcichlids.org/aquamania
The hotel is about 5 mins from the January meeting location. Anyone up for meeting there after the meeting? There's a nice lounge

Matt -
after the GWAPA meeting Saturday is great - I have two folks to go back to Viktor's to pick up and carry back home - so a quick tour of the facility (and maybe time for one beer) to discuss any isues would be great but in the bigger picture let's make it a pretty short meeting.

Matt,
I'm one of George's extras, looking forward to seeing facility.
How will places for decorating tanks, be given out? As I personally didn't notice, two very nice tanks at The Catfish Convention, until the second day. I wasn't the only one.
Thanks,
Daniel

Endings are the saddest part.
So just give me a happy middle
And a very happy start.

This is Aquamania in March, not Aquafest which is in October.
