Amazonia Exhibit at National Zoo Needs Volunteers

Post by krisw »

I received this email today, and wanted to pass it along in case anyone has the time and is interested:
My name is Justin Graves, I coordinate the Volunteer program here at the National Zoo’s Amazonia Exhibit. We are currently recruiting new volunteers for our Keeper-aide program (the folks that assist us with our day to day animal and exhibit care). We are particularly interested in finding aquarium/terrarium hobbyist as our collection focuses heavily on fish, reptiles, and amphibians. I was wondering if you could pass this along to your members so that they would be aware of the opportunity. The general time requirement for a keeper aide here is one six hour shift per week from 8am-2pm. We have volunteer opportunities every day of the week right now but are particularly interested in those who have time on Mondays and Fridays. There is more information available about the Amazonia exhibit available on the web: http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/Amazonia/Exhibit/ If anyone is interested in volunteering, they can contact Dan Rauch, the F.O.N.Z. program manager at (202) 633-3062 or rauchd@si.edu.

Thanks,

Justin Graves
