What species of tree? If from a temperate climate, best to put it in a sunny window (if available) in your garage as it will need winter dormancy.

I grow mine in an Ikea Samla plastic shoebox. About 3-4 cm compost, plant, fill with water until the crown is just underwater. Easy peasy.

It appears to be a species of Atricum, commonly called Crispy Star Moss. The first photo looks like an Entodon sp. of some sort. The second looks like Plagiomnium, possibly cuspidatum, or Saber Tooth Moss. The fifth Moss is Thiudium delicatulum, Common Fern Moss. They’re all common terrestrial mosse...
