What I got at homedepot once was a sink strainer.
the ones you put in the sink to prevent hair and other debris from getting into the pipes....
I think it was a 2 pack of squares of about 6"x4" for 99 cents

Well I bought a 1 gal nano, and it's been running for 2 weeks now, I put in some shrimp to see if it is safe, by now it should be fully cycled. make sure you didn't open the tank too much, just open it a little to so you don't have too much gas coming out to the regulator, that might be too much and it might not be able to handle it.
