Anyone need bottles/caps for culturing?
A very long time ago, I dabbled in tissue culturing. But I can't do it anymore, and have a box of clean baby food jars with plastic caps (caps purchased from a tissue culture seller). If you need it, it's yours ... free ... if you're willing to pick it up in Cockeysville. Please send me an email.

Re: cutting a wedge in glass aquarium cover
Would something like this work? It's a hand glass cutter that uses oil for lubrication. It would be worth the buy because I'm interested in learning stained glasswork. http://www.amazon.com/Toyo-Pistol-Grip-Glass-Cutter/dp/B000IGMQ1C/ref=sr_1_9?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1421792400&sr=1-9...

cutting a wedge in glass aquarium cover
I just set up an Eheim aquastyle 35l and ran into an annoying problem with the heater. The glass cover is such a snug fit that there is no space to run a heater cord (heater is also an Eheim, so much for compatibility!). A photo is attached. A Google search showed that this is a known problem. I've ...

Re: Building an aquarium stand
Hi everyone, thanks very much for all the comments. I so appreciate it! :) DelawareJim … you are right, and I wish I had thought of it. Unfortunately, the stand is almost done and it will be closed. I wanted a little storage space and didn't think about the aesthetics. Darn! I'm taking an introducto...

Building an aquarium stand
Hi all ... I'm currently taking a beginner woodworking class. I'd like to build a simple stand for an Eheim Aquastyle Nano Aquarium 9 gallon. I believe the tank is footprint is 12" x 12" and it's 14" high. The standard height is 30". (I'd like to add a cabinet with 2 shelves for ...

FYI: Baltimore startup company, possible underwater LEDS?
This is just FYI . I'm not trying to sell anything or promote this company. I'm familiar with it because I happen to know one of the owners, and I see some possible uses for aquascape lighting in their invention. (BTW, I posted the same message on plantedtank.net.) A local Baltimore, MD, company is...

pond "vacuum" to remove algae
Is anyone familiar with pond vacuums to suck out algae? Some friends of mine need to do it for their pond. Theyre elderly so i'm a bit concerned about how labor intensive it would be. Is this something they could rent from a home improvement store (they're in Reisterstown).
Thanks,
shireen
