I know, I know, too many meetings in VA! We've got some MD hosts coming up so those on that side of the beltway can rejoice! That said, we are still looking for hosts for July, August and October anywhere in our area :) Please let us know if you are able to host any of those dates and we will see if...

Re: Holiday Party - December 3rd

I'm running out to Giant right now to get a few more sides for us and see if there is a good dessert option to share! Also bagging up some Giant duckweed and more the the Asian Floating Grass I bought to the Paludarium workshop :) They are outcompeting my floating liverwort and that is not allowed :...

October Meeting!

October meeting is coming up next weekend, and I can't WAIT to see what these Paludariums look like when Nick and I are done! In the mean time, my floating plants have been doing AWESOME so I'll be bringing plants for once  I use these as primarily nutrient export in my tanks, not as fry hiding...

I do know I can get some smaller rice and taro/colocasia that won't eat my house (I used a taro leaf as an umbrella in the Philippines  ). I was thinking the stemmy Murdannia might be a twiggy surrogate fo...

Thailand Biotope-ish for the new tank?

What plants would you recommend for a Thailand rice paddy/floodplain biotope-ish tank? For those of you that made it to the January meeting, you likely know the tank I'm talking about! A lovely 60cm x 45cm x something cm tall tank (roughly 30ish gallons) that I got from the ever lovely Jen :D There...

Re: January Meeting

My first time hosting so I'm running around clueless! Should I pick up iced tea? some sodas and what type?? I can get baby carrots ...
