Green Water

Perhaps I am a victim of new tank woes or I don't know what I am doing. Probably the latter. I have been fighting green water for nearly a month now and I am getting very frustrated. Where do I start in combating this monster? I have shortened my photo period, cut back on the amount of light, water ...

I love DIY stuff like that. Things that are so ugly they are beautiful.

I have an old powerhead out in the garage that just got a new lease on life.

Have you thought about changing the Mag5 impeller out for a Mag7? They are the same housing and motor. The only difference in the two pumps is the length of the blades on the impeller. I may even have one sitting around for you to try.

Cheers to GWAPA and our host. The warmth and generosity I experienced yesterday was like no other club I have ever been involved with. Having been the President of CMAS, I believe that statement caries a little weight. Thank you all for the jump start you have given my tank. It is now full of water ...

Paul - How high off of the water are your lights? Mine will be fairly close so I may need to adjust how many lights are on at one time. I will be using an AquaController Jr and should be able to do some neat stuff with the timing.

A standard 90 is 48L x 18W x 24T

btw, thank you all for the feedback. I am getting pretty psyched about this.

The custom doors for my cabinets came today. I will post pics of the stand once the doors are painted and installed.

Sorry Chris. the 120 is already gone. I am going to pick up the 90 today after I call around and find my best price.

What are your thoughts about the lights?

Change in plans

I have been planning the installation of my 120 for a couple of years now (life always seemed to get in my way). I am finally ready to start setting things up but with a small change. I have decided to install a 90 rather than the 120. The 90 fit in the space I have much better. I have two questions...

I have resealed an aquarium before and it was not that tough to do. In fact, I will be resealing my 120 before I set it up (assuming that ever happens).
