At his current prices, count me in for a dozen pygmies... they rock.

I just know I can't afford to lose flow rate in my 55g by doing the inline thing. If you can't afford to lose the flow rate, don't use a reactor... just plump the CO2 directly into the filter intake in the tank... by the time it gets through the canister, it'll get way more exposure and agitation t...

Hey all... I'm pretty sure my existing Milwaukee pH probe is dying. I'm in need of a replacement, but everywhere I've checked either doesn't carry the Milwaukee probe is is out of stock and don't know when they'll get more. Does anyone know if I can use a Pinpoint probe (which actually looks like a ...
From extensive A.nana work though, including tumbled floaters, the more conservative (to me) approach you suggest of corrective rather than radical surgery works well for me.
Cool... I was kind of leaning that way anyway, as the gigantica variety seems to be even more "slow...

Hey all, got a question regarding some anubias... I got an Anubias Giagantica from someone and it was in reasonably bad shape, but had a good rhizome and root system on it. It's been growing reasonably well recently and now I'd like to make it a bit more "normal"... It's been deformed from...

Ack... help! I got Rick's batch of PMDD chems today at the meeting. Unfortunately, it doesn't make sense to me. It doesn't seem to match the instructions on the bag either. I have: Potassium Nitrate (KNO3?) Trace (Plantex CSM?) Monopotassium Phosphate (MKP?) Potassium Sulfate (K2SO4?) That's it. Tho...

I'd prefer at least a bit of a talk on PPMD, since I've been told by some *ahem* that my basic Flourish dosing isn't doing the job. <img border="0" src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0">

I know this seems like a dumb question, but I've never really had to deal with it before... How do you thin out Java Fern? I really don't want to pull it off the driftwood and I get the distinct impressing that clipping the leaves will just send it into "must make more baby plantlets" mode...

I'm with Kris. I test my KH to see where my CO2 is and I'll do a manual test of pH periodically to make sure my pH monitor is correct. Other than that I just have one fairly complex test I use on a regular basis... If I can see through the tank, all the critters are moving around, and there's more g...
