Re: Suggestions for a Elementary School Fishtank (Large)
I do wonder what the par will be at the bottom of the tank. I guess I would have to pull all those large rocks and get a substrate. I could, however, make the substrate pretty deep and layered. I would prefer to get larger fish for the tank, something that can be seen by the kids. I am less wedded t...

Re: PH Monitors
Thanks, very useful.
I am just looking for something simple, not really a controller. Just a digital ph monitor that I put in my tank to keep an eye on the ph levels instead of those terrible test kits. I have a planted tank (w/ C02) and african cichlid tank I want to monitor the ph more closely

Suggestions for a Elementary School Fishtank (Large)
Greetings. I am helping a friend update and improve a elementary school fish tank (see attached image). It is pretty massive. I was thinking of trying to get some plants in the tank and perhaps a wider variety of fish. Not sure of the water parameters yet. Does anyone currently have the GWAPA PAR me...

Re: July Meeting?
I love the idea of sharing tank set ups. I be happy to do mine.
Re: PAR Meter
Re-posting in the hopes of getting a response
At one of the meetings, Viktor mentioned that GWAPA has a PAR meter. I wanted to test out my aquaray lights in my 55 gallon and was wondering if I could borrow it.
Thanks

Tank Temperature
My tank is running at around 84 degrees, outside the green zone on my thermometer.
Does anyone have any ways to keep the heat down other than cranking up aircon in the house or turning off the lights?
Is there a downside for plants/fish at this temp?
