Stygobromus hayi
It is endemic to DC. When I first saw the article below I thought wow, a local shrimp or shrimp like critter. But then I discovered this. This amphipod measures 10 millimeters (0.39 in) in length. Because it lives underground, it is white in color and eyeless. http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2013/12/0...

Re: Clay as soil conditioner
You can try an art supply store, or Hobby Lobby store, something like a Malone Red Pottery Clay should do the trick.

Re: Buildmyled.com
My Catalina T5HO fixture on my 75G died. I probably used it less than 2 yrs, one ballast died early in the first year, the other a couple of days ago. I was looking at Buildmyled.com's 10000K planted tank light and Dutch 6300K light. I don't recall who I spoke with, but he said the Dutch has better ...

Re: Saw a nice tank at House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie
I didn't inspect the corners or much else. I was in and out pretty quick. I didnt realize they made a rimless tank that large, without a center brace too. It was just awesome to see.

Saw a nice tank at House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie
It's made by Deep Blue, a nice 75 gallon rimless tank with no center brace. I am yearning for one now. The glass looked to be 1/2" to 5/8" thick. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-vi_KIcy7-Aw/Uo46c7QEXcI/AAAAAAAAAYc/IQweovmxjBc/s512/20131121_115259.jpg https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/RB...

Re: Platys Eat BBA
I used to have a shrimp tank, and I would sometimes take a BBA covered anubias from my Endler tank and place it in my shrimp tank and they would just clean it up. Difference being the BBA the shrimp cleaned up was not pre-treated with bleach. I have a lot of anubias that need the bleach and platys t...

Platys Eat BBA
I believe my platys are eating dead bba. The day after Aquafest I took some pics of my new fish, 2 electric blue rams. Right behind them in the photo was an anubias that I had dipped in a bleach solution, and you could see all the white fuzzy algae. Well one week later it's all gone, while the unble...

Re: 215G rescaped
aquariumplants.com's aquadurt may be suitable, ships for free, and pretty reasonably priced. Comes in 4 colors also. Maybe they can send you samples if you ask them.

Re: Advice on liquid micros?
My main concern with CSM is if it provides enough iron. I use the PPS Pro calculator for my fertilizer solutions.
